Empowering Real Estate Agents: eXp Realty Introduces Agent Safety Self-Defense Training at EXPCON 2023
World-renowned Gracie University will teach a specialized self-defense training class for real estate professionals
Real estate agents often find themselves working independently, which can put them in vulnerable positions, compromising their safety. At eXp Realty, the safety of our agents is a top priority, which is why a special class on safety and personal defense will be offered during EXPCON 2023.
eXp has partnered with the renowned Gracie University, based in Torrance, California, to provide agents with the tools and knowledge to enhance their personal safety with a specialized self-defense training class for real estate professionals.
Three sessions will be offered on October 2:
- Early morning session: 7:30 – 9 a.m. PST
- Mid-morning session: 9:30 – 11 a.m. PST
- Noon session: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. PST
How to Sign Up for the Safety Class
Instructors will teach hands-on maneuvers and tips for self-defense, so attendees should wear comfortable clothes. Best of all, the classes are free for anyone registered to attend EXPCON.
Those interested can sign up during registration as an “add-on” event. Or, if already registered, modify your registration. All fitness levels are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
NAR Stats Show Agents Have Encountered Personal Safety Incidents
According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), 31% of real estate agents have encountered situations that made them fear for their personal safety while on the job. The NAR survey also revealed that 27% of real estate professionals have experienced discomfort or concern about their personal safety during work-related activities.
While safety is a significant concern, it’s essential to equip ourselves with the necessary skills. Surprisingly, only 15% of real estate agents have taken self-defense classes or received any form of personal safety training, according to industry surveys.
