eXp Realty’s Brett Davis Is Voted the Best of 207 – the Entire State of Maine

In all of Maine, there is currently only one area code – 207. And who was voted the Best Real Estate Agent in ALL of 207 by the people? That honor belongs to Brett Davis of eXp Realty. But the biggest surprise is that Brett had no idea he was even being considered for the honor, let alone winning it.

“My cousin called me at 7 a.m. the morning of the announcement and said, ‘Congratulations!’ I had no idea what he was talking about, but apparently, I won,” Brett said with a laugh, acknowledging that his 28 years in real estate and serving his clients well in the Freeport-Portland, Maine corridor must have resonated.

Brett Davis Real Estate, Just Steps From L.L. Bean

Brett said he lost too much of his hard-earned money on franchise fees with RE/MAX before deciding to open his own independent brokerage in 2006. For 14 years, he ran Brett Davis Real Estate, located in Freeport, just steps from Maine’s most notable business – L.L. Bean. But in May 2020, he and his four agents joined eXp Realty, citing eXp’s agent-centric value proposition as the reason. Another big piece for Brett was removing the risk and liability of owning a brokerage.

“Giving up my indie was a little tough. I didn’t want to give up my brand, but with eXp, I realized didn’t have to,” said Brett, who is now branded as Brett Davis Real Estate, Brokered by eXp Realty. “Between tech and training and the fact that it is agent-centric and you get (stock) ownership, it took a lot of pressure off of me.”

Since joining eXp, Brett’s world has become less stressful and more enjoyable.

“Joining has allowed me to focus on what I’m supposed to be doing – making contacts, going to community stuff, ballgames. A huge weight has been lifted. Now I don’t need to spend time contacting my insurance company, hiring someone or managing my website. All of a sudden, I have all this extra free time,” said Brett who is focusing on new construction and working with builders. “I have seven new subdivisions going. It charges you up in a different way.”
