Houston’s Minh “May” Pham Achieved eXp’s ICON Agent Status Working Part-time
Many eXp Realty agents try to achieve ICON Agent status each year. It signals a level of production and provides financial rewards. While most eXp agents get to ICON status working full-time, eXp agent Minh “May” Pham did it working part time – mainly on weekends.
“Collaboration is a big part of eXp’s model and I worked together with other eXp agents to get the deals done,” said Minh, who is part of Huy Nguyen’s group. She said the Houston market is hot and there are plenty of eager buyers. “As a part-time agent, showing is the most difficult task to handle because buyers want to see it when they want to see it. But I’ve been able to be part of a team and we all work together.”
Minh’s background is in accounting and she works full-time at VIETV, a television network for Vietnamese-American families living in the United States. At VIETV, she works on the finance team as well as hosting shows. But her time there is becoming more limited as she is drawn to real estate as well as raising her son, Maxwell, with her husband Huy.
Minh came to the U.S. from Vietnam at age 17 to study abroad. She lived with her aunt, attending high school and then the University of Houston where she got her bachelor’s and MBA in finance.
“I always had an interest in real estate and got my license, but didn’t have an interest in any brokerage. Nothing clicked. Then I met Huy (Nguyen) and he explained the eXp model and I knew right away this was for me. We also share the ‘Rich Dad’ philosophy of ‘The rich don’t work for money. They make money work for them.’”
Many of Minh’s client’s are Asian and she hopes to grow the eXp Realty Asian agent base as well.

“I left my license inactive for a year until I heard about eXp. Once I heard about eXp, I got excited and knew right away this was the perfect choice for me. I wanted to surround myself with the right people, as they could influence my life and my career. eXp offers an amazing level of support and training which I needed at the beginning. eXp’s revenue share and stock are one-of-a-kind models in real estate.”

“The people. I got a chance to meet so many successful, motivated and good-hearted people at eXp. I learn and get inspired by them every day. Also, eXp’s model motivates me to help and collaborate with other agents and grow financial independence in the long term.”
Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?
“I was able to be part of the eXp Asian Network and ONE eXp with a purpose of growing Asian agents and diversity at the company. I’m so proud to grow my community here. I was able to connect with other eXp agents from other states and cities through attending the BUILD event and EXPCON.”
What is one thing about eXp that surprised you?
“I was able to become an ICON agent and built a group of 30 agents within two years as a part-time agent. So if I can do it, you can do it, too, if not better!”
What kind of collaboration have you experienced at eXp?
“I’m proud of our Dallas ICON Agent/Leader Tu Anh Tran, who was able to grow over 10 agents in her group in less than six months while keeping up with her production. We drive to Dallas and host monthly events together. We also offer many interesting topics at each event such as ‘How to grow your career on YouTube,’ ‘Flipping your way to success,’ and ‘How to be a social media agent,’ among others.”

“Dream big – set higher goals! You will never know your full potential until you work hard to make your goals come true.”

Traveling to Vietnam with my husband and my son to see our families.

My mother, who can do anything for her kids’ best life.
