In Addition to Loving eXp’s ‘Vibe,’ Orlando’s Diante Lawrence Writes Children’s Books

Editor’s note: In celebration of Black History Month, we are featuring eXp Realty agents who are sharing their stories of service, values and commitments.

eXp Realty agent Diante Lawrence has a story to tell. The Orlando, Florida native is so passionate about it, that he has turned it into an eight-book children’s series: “Tae Tae and the Believers” that will evolve into a TV series, movies and merchandise.

The story is based on himself, but it’s a story for everyone. That’s what makes Diante such a dynamic salesman, entrepreneur, public speaker, investor, real estate agent and writer. He knows how to reach people with a positive message.

“It’s a book about belief. Tae Tae is based on me – they are my dreams as a kid. My main goal is to have a brand for young Black boys to have a positive perspective to look up to. My heart is driven to bring light to these kids,’’ Diante said. 

Diante Wants Young Black Boys to Dream Big, Just Like Him

The catalyst for this children’s book series was the murder of George Floyd in 2020. It evoked a myriad of emotions. He saw the level of racism in America was startling, and real. 

So with a great family upbringing by his parents and extended family, a college education in business administration from the University of South Florida and high-powered sales jobs for Nabisco, Diante wanted to make sure every person in America is seen for who they are, not a stereotype.

“Why are people racist? But, I realized if you don’t have proximity to someone like me, your only connection (to people of color) is what you see in the media. With Tae Tae, I want young Black boys to dream big and connect with someone that looks like them,’’ he said.

eXp Realty’s Vibe Is What Drew Diante to Join

For Diante, real estate is an extension of his need to connect with people, to make a positive impact on people’s lives. In 2015, he started investing by flipping homes. That led to getting a real estate license. This is his vehicle to connect all his interests, which is why joining eXp Realty was a natural conclusion. 

“I’m a vibe person. I looked at the culture and the vibe. When my people at Exit Realty switched to eXp Realty, I really got into being around the office in downtown Orlando where 25-50 agents could be there at any given time,’’ he said. 

That was in 2019, and last year, amidst his book-writing and other ventures, Diante closed $5.5 million on 13 transactions in the Orlando area. No wonder he was recognized as one of the top 35 agents under 35 by Orlando Real Producers in 2021.

How has your production changed since joining eXp Realty?

“My business has grown steadily every single year while I’ve been with eXp. Just last year my business grew 18%, and I am already trending to do even better in 2023.”

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“My daily experience really. This industry is tough, but when you have the right team of people around you supporting, encouraging, and helping you along the way it makes things so fulfilling.”

What kind of collaboration have you experienced at eXp?

“From helping me with my listing presentations, teaching me the tricks and trades of YouTube, and how to throw a client event to grow your business. The collaboration has not stopped, and every time I’m looking to grow my business all I have to do is ask, and the agents in my office just open their play books to help me succeed.”

Best tip to share with other agents:

“BE CONSISTENT with whatever you do. Whether that’s cold calls, open houses, social media. Do it every day and that consistency will build into success!”
