When you join eXp Realty, you can either choose to have a sponsor agent and or choose to not have a sponsor. If you choose not to have a sponsor, you will still end up paying the same amount of commissions to eXp, so that is not really in your best interest. A Sponsor can provide a tremendous amount of value for no additional cost. In fact, a sponsor can provide you with more support, training and coaching than eXp does. It can be daunting finding the right sponsor for you, but it is recommended that you join with the agent/team that you feel most comfortable with and will provide you with great support and even accountability through weekly meetings and one-on-one calls. You will have this sponsor for your life at eXp, so choose wisely!
How Does eXp Sponsorship Work?
The basic job of a sponsor is to guide a new eXp agent through the onboarding process and help set them up for success in their career. Some sponsors will sign you up and forget about you, while others will help nurture your business and make sure you are living up to your full potential. All sponsors are not created equal! We at the 1026 Club provide our partners with technology, lead support, accountability, training, and are available for assistance virtually 24/7, whether via website chat, texts, and or to our personal cell phones. There is always a member to help, because in this industry when you need help, you need help NOW! When you pick a sponsor, it is not just picking one person, you are choosing 7 total agents in your “up-line” family. A sponsor does not need to be local to your area, as you will be assigned a local Mentor as well that can help with contracts, shadowing, and other location based support.
What is the Difference Between a Sponsor and a Mentor?
A sponsor is your life long business partner that will ultimately have the biggest impact on your career through coaching, training, and accountability. A mentor is usually a local agent that has done a good number of recent transactions in your local area, that can guide you through the mentor program and your first three transactions. You only need a mentor if you have not completed three transactions in the last 12 months prior to joining eXp. After you have completed the mentor program, your mentor has completed their duties and may or may not stay in touch, however hopefully they continue to help!
Can I Change My Sponsor?
The only way to change your sponsor is to quit eXp for 6 months and then join again.
