The Tampa Team Movement is Underway as Three Major Tampa Teams Join eXp Realty This Week 

eXp Realty’s strong value proposition and agent-centric model continue to resonate in the real estate community as three prominent Tampa teams have just moved to eXp Realty, creating a movement named Tampa Unites. 

The teams joining eXp are:

• The Kendall Bonner Team, formerly with RE/MAX
• The Tampa Bay Home Team, formerly with Keller Williams 
• The Tampa Bay Team, formerly with LPT Realty, will partner with the Tampa Bay Home Team  

With this big news, approximately 50 agents have moved over to eXp Realty, and in the process, created a notable force in the Tampa Bay corridor.

eXp Mega Agent Veronica Figueroa Is the Connector

At the center of this movement is Orlando’s Veronica Figueroa, leader of eXp Realty’s No. 1 mega team for two straight years and a major influencer in eXp’s growth.

“eXp is the real deal and people are taking notice of our strong leadership, culture, technology and financial opportunities,” said Figueroa. “This Tampa movement is looking for the same thing – to build a business, collaborate and approach it with a forward-thinking mindset. There are lots of agents who need our help. We decided to come together and be one big community, help each other and be more productive,” said Figueroa.

Realty.com Playing a Big Role With eXp Realty and the Alliance

Figueroa was instrumental in bringing the Kendall Bonner Team and the Tampa Bay Team, and through her connection with Lance Custen, president of Realty.com, was also able to bring in the Tampa Bay Home Team, led by Joseph and Christina Kipping.  

“We have had a strong relationship with Lance and with Realty.com for the past two years,” said Kipping. “He introduced us to Veronica who showed us the eXp model and how it compared to our current brokerage. Once we saw everything and the opportunity it gives our agents, we knew it was the right fit for our growing team. This opportunity also allows us to align with big thinkers and industry leaders like Veronica and Kendall.”

Elizabeth Colón of the Tampa Bay Team agrees. 

“We decided to reach out to Veronica because she was someone we could trust and connect us with the right leaders,” said Colón. “She has been someone that has inspired us in our career. In January, eXp announced an agreement to work with Realty.com to offer services to its agents and the agreement is already paying dividends.

More About the Teams Forming Tampa Unites:

The Kendall Bonner Team (formerly with RE/MAX) – Kendall Bonner is the former broker/owner of RE/MAX Capital Realty and recently merged her 40-agent team with another RE/MAX affiliate, RE/MAX Alliance. However, in a bold, news-making move just days after the merger, Bonner felt running a brokerage no longer inspired her.

According to an Inman article, she wanted to lean into something that excited her, which was to help coach and guide underserved and new agents. She connected with Figueroa and felt eXp Realty was the place she needed to be. Bonner is formidable in the real estate industry. She holds a law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and after practicing law, thrust herself into the real estate industry, rising to become a franchise owner, accomplished leader, coach and sought-after motivational speaker.

The Tampa Bay Home Team (formerly with Keller Williams) – Led by Joseph and Christina Kipping, a total of 18 licensed agents have moved over to eXp Realty. They will unite with the four partners from the Tampa Bay Team and their 15 agents for a total of 33 agents. In 2022, the Tampa Bay Home Team had $86,000,000 in closed sales on 228 units. In 2021, their production was $78,000,000 on 216 units. They are KW Double Platinum Award winners in 2022 and 2021.

“eXp Realty has always been on our radar as so many great agents and teams have made the move,” said Kipping. “I never allowed myself to really look at the eXp model because we really loved Keller Williams Realty and everything they stand for. However once Lance Custen with Realty.com and Veronica Figueroa slowed us down long enough and really showed us the model and opportunity for our people it was a very fast decision and happened within 30 days.”

The Tampa Bay Team (formerly with LPT Realty) – The Tampa Bay Team, co-partnered by Elizabeth Colón, Yae Colon, Justin Johnson and Michael Gutierrez, will join forces with the Tampa Bay Home Team, bringing 15 agents with them. The Tampa Bay Team is rejoining eXp Realty after leaving briefly for LPT Realty. Their production in 2022 was $110,000,000 in closed sales on 111 units.
