eXp Celebrates Black History Month With the Theme ‘Create, Cultivate, Celebrate’

Panel Discussions and Keynote Address by Founding Member and Star of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe, Ronnie DeVoe, Highlight Feb. 10 Activities

eXp World Holdings and its properties – eXp Realty, Virbela and SUCCESS Enterprises – is celebrating Black History Month in February with the theme “Create, Cultivate and Celebrate.”

While eXp is holding special events for this month-long celebration of diversity, at eXp, a focus on diversity happens every day through its recruitment and retention culture, the ONE eXp initiative for inclusion and belonging, and the company’s nine core values.

eXp uses a virtual work platform in which staff and agents are represented through personal avatars that can be customized to reflect everyone’s looks with options for various skin tones, fashions and hairstyles.

Panel Discussions and Keynote by Ronnie DeVoe and Marvetta Bozeman on Feb. 10

As part of its focus for Black History Month, the Black eXp Network (B.E.N.) has developed programs throughout the month with a special focus on events Thursday, Feb. 10 with panel discussions, a keynote by a celebrated Black entertainer — who is now an eXp Realty agent — and a virtual after-party celebration.

• Panel #1 (2 p.m. ET) – Black ICONversations – A panel of Black eXp Realty ICONs will discuss their personal paths to reaching ICON status and will share with others how to do the same. Panelists: Sean Cochran, Lashawn Peterson, Michael Collier, Nicole Ambrose and DeLisa Rose. Moderated by Damian Forrester.

• Panel #2 (3 p.m. ET) – Do You Know Your NFTs? Cryptocurrency and the Future of Real Estate – A panel of agents who are actively engaged in the world of cryptocurrency and NFTs will speak on how these new forms of currency will impact our businesses now and in the future. Panelists: Suzy Truax, Chastin J. Miles, Valencia Gibson. Moderated by Melanie Thomas.

• Keynote Speakers (4 p.m. ET) – Ronnie DeVoe and Marvetta Bozeman of DeVoe Real Estate by eXp Realty – Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe fame, will share his story of how he came over from the concert stage to the real estate world. He will also discuss some of the initiatives that he, along with his business partner Marvetta Bozeman, are undertaking in the area of fair housing. Moderated by eXp World Holdings board of director, Fee Gentry. 

• Closeout Dance Party/Meet and Greet (5-7 p.m. ET) – A virtual after-party will be held in Club Wakanda, a location in eXp World. DJ Byron Pillow will be spinning. Directions to Club Wakanda in eXp World: eXp World > GO TO > Chadwick Boseman Auditorium > Black History Month.
