What Sealed the Deal on a $12.47M Park City Mountain Escape? A Mercedes Motorhome 

eXp Realty agent Scott Murray just watched the ink dry on a breathtaking ski destination home in Park City, Utah for his buyer, closing for nearly $12.47 million, which is a record residential transaction in Utah for eXp Realty, eclipsing the previous record of $7.6 million. 

Not only did Scott negotiate more than a quarter of a million price reduction, but he also secured additional perks for his buyer totaling approximately $1.5 million in value, such as:

• Including all the furnishings
• Adding an adjacent 6-acre parcel that was listed separately
• Having the seller cover the .75% transfer fee 
• And yes, the Mercedes motorhome

Brandon Tecklenburg, team leader of the Tech Travel Team of eXp Realty in Pass a Grille, Florida, connected this out-of-state buyer with Scott. Living on the beach in Florida is amazing but the buyer had his sights set on a mountain destination as well. 

“He wanted to explore mountain properties in Utah, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado,” said Scott. “He came to Park City about 2 years ago but at the time he decided to purchase a remote mountain retreat in Montana. I thought that was the last time I’d hear from this buyer. However, after 18 months of owning the remote property, he realized he wanted to be closer to civilization … and Park City was the answer.

“The buyer called me and said, ‘I’m ready to find my trophy house in the mountains.’ “

After Scott reunited with the buyer, they spent a couple of weeks of intense searching – including viewing ski-in ski-out homes. But the Park City property fit perfectly due to its privacy and spectacular views, plus quick access to Utah’s seven premier ski resorts, the University of Utah, downtown Salt Lake City, and the recently remodeled international airport, all within an easy 30-minute drive.

“We toured multiple homes but this one really knocked his socks off,” said Scott. “There was a Mercedes motorhome in the barn while touring this home. Upon seeing it, the buyer said, ‘I will buy this house if they throw in the motorhome.’ I thought he was joking!”
