North Star Commercial Real Estate Advisors Joins eXp Commercial to Unlock Nationwide Reach and New Growth Opportunities

For Scott Naasz and Bonnie Nguyen, co-founders of North Star Commercial Real Estate Advisors, the decision to join eXp Commercial came down to one thing: eXp’s unmatched platform for commercial real estate professionals.

“Joining eXp gives our team the ability to broker commercial deals across all 50 states,” said Scott and Bonnie. “This opens the door for us to scale our business, collaborate with top advisors nationwide, and expand our services in ways that just weren’t possible before.”

Based in St. Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis, North Star Commercial is bringing five advisors and four support staff to eXp. The team closed $30M+ in sales across 49 units in 2024, specializing in industrial, office, retail, land, business brokerage, and multifamily transactions across the Twin Cities metro and beyond.

A Strategic Move Months in the Making

Scott and Bonnie spent about three months evaluating the decision.

“We did a deep dive into the pros and cons, had a lot of thoughtful conversations, and made sure this was the right fit for our team and our future,” they said.

They were introduced to eXp by Angie Gerber, who also brought together eXp leaders – Cari Briner, Stephanie Gilezan, Rich Tomasini, and Sean Murphy – to help guide them through the transition. 

“Their insight and encouragement helped confirm that eXp was the right brokerage move for us,” the pair added.

Since joining in May 2025, the North Star team has already embraced the benefits of eXp’s robust tech stack.

Before joining eXp, Scott and Bonnie grew their business at Keller Williams Commercial (2022–2025), with Bonnie previously spending nearly nine years at RE/MAX Results. Together, they’ve built a thriving, respected brand – North Star Commercial Real Estate Advisors – earning accolades such as CoStar Power Broker Quarterly Deals Winner and becoming a go-to resource for a wide range of commercial clients.

Complementary strengths mark their partnership: Scott brings the energy (and the purple Vikings tailgating bus, complete with tattoo), while Bonnie brings a global sensibility, having traveled through Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, India, Bulgaria, Turkey, and more. When she’s not exploring the world, she’s tending her garden or relaxing with her dogs.
